Recent ratings ... good or bad?
« on: January 10, 2010, 11:23:04 AM »

So, the recent episodes of January 4th came in with fast national ratings of 3.4 ("Upon This Rock") and 2.9 ("Let It Bleed"). "Rock's" 3.4 is right in line with what the show was doing for the previous episodes this season, but should the 2.9 dropoff for "Bleed" be a concern?

Well, the show was going head-to-head with the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl which saw two undefeated teams (Boise State vs. TCU) facing off in what turned out to be a very good and close game. The first hour of "Heroes" probably kept it's rating among it's football fans until they began to get calls about how the Fiesta Bowl was developing. I'm sure the dropoff of -0.5 was offset by online viewership of "Bleed."

Maybe the network needs to look at a new night for "Heroes?" How about Wednesdays? If they can't recover in the ratings, it would be nice to see NBC give them a shot on, say, the SyFy channel. Whether the creative team and/or cast would want to stay with the show then is another story, but with the success of cable series like AMC's "Mad Men" it's hard to argue against "going cable." Plus, the move would be easy since NBC owns SyFy.

Thoughts anyone?

Getting beaten by 24 is acceptable, that is a high quality program
(Even though the past few seasons have been below par)

but to be smashed 4 to 1 by the heap of s*** "Two and a half men" is embarrassing.  Sad

It upsets me to say this, but I don't expect there to be any more Heroes after this season ends.

My hope is that the writers are given a chance to bring closure to all the storylines.
