Sylar's search leads too...
« on: January 20, 2010, 02:10:57 AM »

...well, the first stop is Hiro. After Sylar's talk with Claire, I think he'll try to get rid of some of his acquired abilities. The first thing he'll need to do is remove Hiro's tumor just as he did Charlie's. Then, he could ask Hiro to go back in time and stop him from acquiring some of these abilities. This would also open the door for some old guest stars to return as the scenario of Sylar not having certain powers could mean that some of Sylar's victims would not have met their end as they did in this timeline.

Thoughts?

If I understand the events of Pass/Fail correctly, Hiro no longer has the problem with the tumor. Either through surgery or his mother healing him, take your pick. Either way, I think Hiro is saved already.

As for Sylar, well......

I will hold to my earlier theory that in imprinting Nathan onto Sylar caused a reformatting of Sylar's basic mind structure, realigning it in the way that Sylar Thinks Nathan is, or was.

Now that Sylar's memories are back, there is a conflict between how he remembers himself acting (Sylar the bad guy), and how his brain has reformatted (Nathan the good guy). That's why he finds himself unable to actually go through with the killings he remembers himself doing casually. And why he also subtly works against himself being totally nasty. The Nathan sub-personality may have given up, but the basic formatting remains.

As for what Sylar will do now in his funny little personal quest. I don't know. Maybe attempt a reset as was done in season 2, except this time he will retain the TK, electricity, and Lydia's weird empathic power.

Judging from the episode "The Wall", it looks like the reset didn't work. I think Sylar right now feels really bad about killing Nathan, so much so that he feels the need to be a better person. Which is why he agreed to go with Peter to the Carnival. I do believe its genuine rather than just a trick because now he's let the "Nathan" goodness seep in to the point where he is still mostly himself but can do good things.

If you hear Liana on the Podcast, that was me forgetting to add helix9 to the email. Silly me.
